Throwing a Party?

May 13, 2011

In France it’s expected that if you are throwing a party, you will post a note for your neighbors explaining that you are hosting a get together and leaving your phone number so they can contact you if you are making too much noise.  It’s the polite thing to do and also quite self-serving as most neighbors will call you before calling the police.  Here’s a model fête avertissement (party warning!) note that you can adapt and use at home.  I usually post one note by the second door downstairs and put one note under each door of the two neighbors just below me.
